I really shouldn't be here; I should be writing my essay.

I had ten days to do it; I'm not at all sure how I ended up writing all bar a fraction of it today (starting now, thanks to an unfortunately slow lunch) when it's due in this evening. Although I suspect 'end of term' has lots to do with it.

Nearly every essay I've written for this degree, I've written pretty much the day it was due (okay, really the day before). I've always put this down to too many years working as a journalist, where same-day turnaround is the norm, but maybe it's just how essays at this level are inevitably written.
