I actually went to the blockade yesterday with everything I would need to do a Mass and imposition of ashes on the railway tracks, in case we were still there in the morning. Some people were, in fact, still there till early morning, but I was one of the first arrested, so unable to provide any liturgical aid.

I will say, I was pleased by how very carefully my arresting officer handled my "items of religious importance", even though the wafers and wine weren't yet consecrated and didn't really need such care.

Well, I want you both to know that I read this post at 6:30 this morning, went oh! It's Ash Wednesday and my ex has moved to Portland so I could ACTUALLY GO TO CHURCH, and then I went to mass. For like the first time in four or five years. Which was fine because it hasn't really changed at all, that's what's nice about it. So here you are ministering to the unchurched. The end.

Well not quite the end, then there was a colleague who wondered in the ladies' room at work how I'd gotten mascara to run all the way up to my forehead when hers was just under one eye.
