In other news, I have just discovered that I washed and tumble-dried my favourite cashmere-silk turquoise pullover. Astonishingly, it came out unharmed, and looking like new.

I am amazed by the survival of your pullover. It has emboldened me to try my green merino one in the handwash cycle of the machine rather than actually handwashing it.

I've usually been able to get away with maching washing wool, unless it was a very loose knit. But tumble drying? I'm amazed.
