  • 22:33 It's freezing in here. I still want to do a bit of translation before I sleep, but I think I might be reduced to doing them in bed. #
  • 22:39 Email from my mother appears to indicate that Dad has become Rural Dean, but I'm pretty sure a few important words have got missed out... #
  • 10:27 Ah, coffee. Where would I be without it? (Less addicted, probably, but everything has the defects of its virtues...) #
  • 10:30 Really ought to write up a review of Knife, which I liked a lot (and also back and see if that translation of Eckhart really made no sense). #
  • 10:34 Come to that, I ought to get down to work properly, rather than reading a chapter of Hadewijch and then checking lj again.... #
  • 10:52 I wish the Bible Gateway site offered another translation with the Apocrypha than the Douay-Rheims (they don't even have Luther's version). #

  • 17:10 @angevin2 Lucky you. It's just beastly raw here. #
  • 17:26 Realising that the Dutch would make substantially more sense if there wasn't a page missing. A nuisance, but sort of reassuring in its way. #
  • 17:38 Middle Dutch is very, very difficult, but I'm quite enjoying stretching the philological side of my brain again. #

  • 18:14 @alantlwilson That's impressive, it always takes much longer with me (and they don't even take a full arm!) #
  • 18:35 @angevin2 That settles it, I'm definitely giving up meat for Lent. Or possibly food. Sarting early, like now. #
  • 19:01 Oh damn, completely forgot that I was supposed to be going to the church and culture seminar! (Can I blame shock of injury? Alas, no.) #

Heh. I'm thinking of giving it up for Lent, myself...

I imagine Middle English helps too. At least, that's what I vaguely seem to remember from looking at some chunks of it once.
