Due to some unexpected invitations over the weekend, I have been left with 250g of white asparagus, which really needs something done with it, but I can't eat this evening, because I have something else needing eaten...

Anyone have a good soup recipe?

Could you blanch them and freeze until a time when you feel the need for asparagus? Have done that with random veg before and it usually works well...

Water, asparagus, salt & pepper, and cream or creme fraiche, I think.

Indeed - when I saw that, I realised that Creatrix usually does this.

You could try chefkoch.de for recipes, they usually have a large variety of very yummy stuff. :)
I absolutely despise asparagus, therefore I don't know any recipes myself. Sorry. ;)

I'm another one who dislikes asparagus, sadly. It's a shame because I love regional food and marking seasons with what I eat, and it's a shame I can't ever join in the first aspargus spears squee.

(there is some forced rhubarb coming through though - I adore rubarb)

Yeah well, the taste of asparagus makes me gag. I like everything else in the veggie department though. ;)

Why, yes. Yes, as it happens, I do.

Additionally, there's

and, again soupily, this:

Could be worse.

Hello there. Tim enjoys pureeing asparagus and using it as a base for adding other lovely vegetables, Parmesan cheese, and perhaps some butter. It's very good with green asparagus, although I've never had it with white. But be forewarned: asparagus does tend to cause less-than-pleasant body odor...
