Could be better, could be worse. The German Nine-voice is going to take a lot of getting used to - it's too light and young, more like Ten, actually. Actually, after putting too much thought into it - and in a bid to rescue the 'I thought you were from the North' joke, I think they should have got Jan Fedder to do it. His origins are the Hamburg working-class, and I think his voice would fit Nine quite well (he's best known for playing a sometimes gruff but always good-hearted cop, and Wikipedia informs me that he has done dubbing work). Oh well, never mind - it's always interesting watching things you know in a different language!

Though the reference to 'one mission' makes me suspect that whoever wrote the voice-over may have succumbed to the popular misapprehension that All TV SF is like Star Trek. And hasn't actually watched any of the episodes. Quite liked the 'einer muß' uns ja retten' line though ('well, SOMEONE's got to save us')

Unusual emphasis on the telepathic circuits - and while I'm no expert on German accents and intonation, this voice has none of the universe-weariness Eccleston's voice brought to the Doctor even in his lightest moments.

One mission? I thought that the whole point was that he DIN'T have a mission- a wanderer in the fourth dimension.

The voice did sound odd as well, but I really don't like dubbed voices- they annoy me intensely. I'd rather watch something in the original language, even if that means I don't understand it. I don't know why it is, but it really irritates me.
