I didn't realise sermons had to have a word-count!

Could you just affect a ponderous delivery? That'd slow things down, so you wouldn't have to say as much...

Well, not as such, but it has to be a certain length, and the r e a l l y s l o o o w d e l i v a r y is a bit of a cheap trick;)

It is indeed. I had a print of it on my wall as an undergraduate, and lost it, to my great and lasting regret. This is the cheapest and most portable substitute!
