It's just too busy. It may have something to do with the fact that I have the attention span of a goldfish these days, but I really find it painful to look at. Let alone find anything.
I don't think it's a dreadful layout, but it seems more rough-edged than its predecessor, and it's very close to the online Times and Telegraph. I'd have preferred a more evolutionary approach to redesign, if one was necessary.
Well, yes, although I rather liked the very spare old format (at least for the front page: the tiny columns, whether or not intended as homage to a newspaper layout, made reading tiresome, at least if you read quickly. Perhaps it'll settle down, or I'll get used to it, but... not a fan, so far.
They did something similar to the Travel section a month or two back, with box sections etc. I stopped visiting it. I agree, it's messy and unclear like this. Grrr.
