If you click on "UK" in the top menu you get back to the familiar layout. Whether it'll be there tomorrow is quite another matter, of course.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's the only one you can still access from abroad for free I wouldn't bother with it any more.

They've turned it into the online version of the Times.

I don't think it's a dreadful layout, but it seems more rough-edged than its predecessor, and it's very close to the online Times and Telegraph. I'd have preferred a more evolutionary approach to redesign, if one was necessary.

It could be improved, but at least they're realised that screens tend not to be only 800 pixels wide these days. That's a step forward.

It's just too busy. It may have something to do with the fact that I have the attention span of a goldfish these days, but I really find it painful to look at. Let alone find anything.

Certainly the shock doesn't help, but it does seem somehow amateurish to me - and not in a good way, either.

Well, yes, although I rather liked the very spare old format (at least for the front page: the tiny columns, whether or not intended as homage to a newspaper layout, made reading tiresome, at least if you read quickly. Perhaps it'll settle down, or I'll get used to it, but... not a fan, so far.

They did something similar to the Travel section a month or two back, with box sections etc. I stopped visiting it. I agree, it's messy and unclear like this. Grrr.
