Feb. 1st, 2006 04:17 pmThe AGA is broken! Help!
Oh well. Looks like we'll be exclusively eating stuff you can make in a microwave or eat raw until the engineer* comes.
*Yes, I chose the word 'engineer' deliberately. it's a big beast, an aga.
And I don't quite know how I'm going to get all my class prep done by Friday morning...

Date: 2006-02-01 04:59 pm (UTC)I've spent the day writing Minutes that needed to be done weeks ago, and must be done by tomorrow morning (doing two jobs due to sickness has got in the way, somehow). I shall manage it by taking everything home, and then pizza and the Pyjamas of God (TM), which I hope will inspire me.
So, forget it for now, and leave it until tomorrow at 9pm...

Date: 2006-02-01 05:17 pm (UTC)For some reason, this immediately makes me think of The Archers. Cheer up, no doubt Jill will be round with a Casserole shortly...
Seriously, I have had run-ins with broken cookers and it is No Joke. Especially if your canteen is as bad as ours.
If you're preparing lessons, it can sometimes happen that if you've been agonising over a thing for ages without actually doing it, the actual lesson-planning bit may be over sooner than you'd think.
And sometimes breaking a huge, nasty job into segments helps - tell yourself you WILL finish x part by 6 and then you can go home. Doesn't always work, but sometimes the results surprise me.
Oah no-ah!
Date: 2006-02-01 05:25 pm (UTC)Yes, that's the only way to go at it, I think. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
Now, where did I put Jill's phone number....?
