Anyone have any tips on discouraging clothes moths? Unfortunately, mothballs make the inside of my throat swell up, but grateful for any other suggestions...

Peppermint (in a potent distillation like essential oil etc) also seems to discourage most insects – you might try a bit in your drawers/wardrobe/whatever.
Lavender, cedar, strongly scented bars of soap in drawers. Only store clean garments, use plastic clothes bags, freeze or microwave heirlooms. Pheromone traps, kill any moths you see, despair, wail.
