tree_and_leafDoes anyone out there happen to have access to the new German translation of 'Lord of the Rings'? (That is, not the Carroux version, but the new one where Sam calls Frodo 'Chef'? I would be eternally grateful to anyone who could provide me with a copy of the beginning of Ch12 of the Fellowship, down to "I am not a Black Rider, Sam,” he said gently, “nor am I in league with them. I am trying to discover something of their movements; but I have found nothing.”
I'm teaching a class on translation, and it would be interesting to be able to contrast two translations which take a very different approach to the text...
