You are 84% English.

You are either native and stupid, or you are foreign and knowledgeable.

"And did those feet
In ancient times,
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
In England's pleasant pastures seen?"

Well, no, but it's a cracking good tune.

How English are you?

Hmm. Put me down as 'foreign but knowledgable'. I expect it was the cream and scone question which I got wrong, anyway. Strange Southern habit that it is...

Yes, I'm another 'foreign but knowledgable' and scored a less-than-glorious 79%. I put this down to tea and cream, and utter pedantry about a London landmark. Embrace the non-Englishness! Let wobbling upper lips be unconfined!

92%. I feel disgustingly provincial.

Experimentation shows that to get 100% you have to answer "Government" rather than "High finance" to the question "What happens in The City?" (cynical, although not entirely inaccurate) and "Scousers" rather than "A band" to the question "What were the Beatles?" (well yes, but ...).

And it was supposed to be Glastonbury, not Cornwall, wasn't it? :)

Ah. I seem to remember visiting Glastonbury Abbey(?) and the blurb mentioning that Joseph of Arimathea was said uncle -- although it was many years ago and I may be misremembering!

Haha! The cream and jam question really annoyed me, because that is really a regional thing. It's definitely NOT the case that ALL English people put jam & cream on their scones in the same order. So there! tsk tsk.

Yes, good point! My friend Sinead hates cream (well, okay, she's Irish, but I'm sure there are some British people who hate cream). Actually, come to think of it, my friend Jo from ChCh hates cream, too. So there phooey quiz writers!
