It is a Well Known Phenomenon that at half-time of England football matches, the power dips as kettles are boiled. Can we expect that at 7:16pm tonight, water pressure across the land will drop as listeners flush the lavatories they have just thrown up in?
Indeed. I was fortunate enough to miss the infamous shower scene, but partly because of this I feel impelled to listen to tonight's episode so that I can say I was there.
I will be eating dinnner. I'm not sure whether I ought to be glad or sorry (probably the former, but that won't stop me Listening Again in horrified fascination.)
By "on my way home" I actually mean "getting off my plane / meeting the taxi driver / walking to the car / not having the radio on 'cos he's negotiating Luton airport".
No. About three weeks ago, she kissed David and announced she wanted a no strings attached affair. David was horrified, and went back and grovelled to Ruth, but she had in the meantime sought comfort in the arms of Sam and wasn't impressed. Ruth was impelled to go off to Oxford with Sam when she answered David's mobile and got Sophie, who had, I think, been hoping to persuade David to think again. Ruth, however, took it as proof that the affair was continuing. Possibly because she wanted an excuse to go off with Sam, though it does make one wonder if she really loves, or even really lusts after Sam, or whether she's just looking for a way to get revenge on David.
The only possible comment is, of course: Oooooah Nooooooh!
