grlnamedlucifer, the new trailer for Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
I agree with
grlnamedlucifer's first observation, because really: why Jadis? You can have a story about Narnia that doesn't involve her, you know! And the whole "you have to save Narnia!" aspect does not appeal - it's not at all what VOTD is about (it being about many things, most notably a mystic journey towards God, but also about vocations and the cost of following one and about conversion. But it's not an action story).
On a more minor note, Edmund trying to join up under age strikes me as somewhat implausible* (we'll pass over the fact that the war appears to be over in VOTD, because the chronology of Narnia is problematic at best).
On the other hand, it looks like it will be a pretty film at least.
* Not necessarily anachronistic, because there were some underage soldiers in WWII - though as far as I know it wasn't as widely winked at as it was in WWI - but I don't think Edmund's the type.

Date: 2010-06-17 04:05 pm (UTC)I think I'm going to choose to believe, until proven otherwise, that the "fate of Narnia" deal is an edit job on the "fate of the Narnian lords," especially with them having Ed ask why they're here if there's no need to fight. (And, honestly, that's really sad that he thinks that's the only reason he'd get called back.) Because, yeah, it'd be really annoying if they decided to turn VotD into an action story. :/
