I love Lakeland Ltd. They have excellent householdy products that appeal to my inner gadget fiend, and are genuinely useful (*cuddles her Remoska*)

On the other hand, sometimes their e-mails... worry me. From the Customer feedback on their best selling products:

(On a packet of 20 soft grip pegs): "Love them, they are the hardest working things that I have bought. Strong, cute and don’t leave unsightly peg marks on my clothes. All my neighbours are jealous!"

Er... righto.

To be fair, I have been known to be annoyed at having to choose between a fold down the middle or peg marks on my clothes. This is because I avoid ironing whenever possible and have managed to avoid it entirely for at least two years.

Plus, of course, no tumble dryer...

See, I'm kind of line-drying-obsessed, and I can totally imagine being jealous of someone's clothespins.

Serendipity. I was just looking at Lakeland online to see if they still did the tea-towel rail that hooks over a drawer or cupboard door. Which they do, but it's £14.67. I may just put a couple of S-hooks on the drawer handles instead...

Yes, nearly £15 is a bit too much when I also need to buy a new bookcase which will cost about £45!

I have just measured the thickness of my doors, after looking at the Lakeland over-door hook thingies, which all say 'to fit 4cm door'. In a council flat, you'd expect all the doors to be the same, wouldn't you? Oh, no. The new kitchen door, living room, hall cupboard, and wardrobe cupboard doors are all 42mm. The bedroom and bathroom doors are 40mm. Which possibly explains why the hooks I've had on the wardrobe door keep breaking...

I went in there today - and I am *totally* blaming you! - and I can see why the customer reviews for that rail are less than complimentary. The weld on the back looks weak even to me.

I bought four single Komplement hooks from IKEA instead.

I did buy a pack of Lakeland's little towel loops, though, so I can make more of my teatowels and kitchen towels hang on the IKEA hooks!
