- 23:55 Liverpool was fun. No idea if I'll get the job or not, but it was a good trip. #
- 08:46 Theresa Nielsen Hayden describes being excommunicated as a Mormon: nielsenhayden.com/GodandI.html It contains the warning "if you #
- 08:47 suddenly go weak in the knees and develop an irresistible craving to vote the straight Socialist Workers' Party ticket while drinking #
- 08:47 a cup of coffee and praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary in a swimming pool on Sunday, you'll know what's happened to you" & I thought: #
- 08:48 Sounds perfectly normal, apart from the swimming pool bit. This probably says more about me than anything else. #
- 09:05 Only halfway through Week of Doom, and already absolutely shattered. Bah. Must drag self out of bed.... #
- 10:33 Help! I still need Picture Representative of Me for conference. #
- 10:40 @ParrotKnight Thought of that, but trying not to look like complete maniac Spike. Actually, who am I trying to kid? #
- 10:41 tinyurl.com/awuul7 Reconstruction of Henry Jones Sr's Grail Diary. Fantastic! #
- 10:53 .... tinyurl.com/al7phz Baby's First Mass Set. (i) Boggle (ii) Useful for teaching kids? #
- 11:06 @ParrotKnight I think it's more that I am worried about scaring people. #
- 11:11 Amazopn: People who bought Meister Eckhart's sermons may be interested in pre-ordering Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason". If you say so... #
- 16:06 @Carlanime The sad thing is, I would totally buy it for my Sunday School, if I had one. Don't think I'd give it to my hypothetical kid, tho. #
- 16:07 @s_adelheid Mine's a bit 'if it's Tuesday it must be - wait, where?', but yours is not without its complications either.... #
- 16:08 *is still unreasonably tired* #
- 16:39 Appalled by the collapse of the stadarchiv in Cologne. #
- 16:42 Why would you put the closing date for an application on a Sunday? *is baffled* #
- 17:21 What on earth does one write in answer to the question: "Tell us something about yourself – your interests, hopes for the Church etc" #
- 17:24 "I love Doctor Who, hill walking, and am hoping for a liberal Catholic revival"? (I mean, it sounds v odd phrased as a single question.... #
- 17:26 Also, I don't quite mean liberal, anyway, more like 'orthodox but pro-women and gays'. Labels are a complete minefield. #
- 17:29 @ParrotKnight I had missed it, and only found out at the seminar earlier (one of our number works on Cologne manuscripts. Or worked). #
- 19:10 @GMWWemyss It's the buzzword, but I'm not sure it's what I want to say! #
- 19:15 OK, have finished another batch of applications. Time to go to meeting, then print and send them. #

Date: 2009-03-05 12:00 am (UTC)Though come to think of it, I can think of at least two examples that clearly doesn't apply to, but as (a) they have demonstrated their interest in the opposite sex by getting married and (b) one of them is the Archbishop of Canterbury, I do not find this as reassuring as it could be.
