  • 22:52 Have had rather unexpected news from friends in Germany - not quite sure how to respond (no-one any of you lot know...) #
  • 00:03 Enjoyed Rumpole. The mystery was totally obvious, but still well-executed and therefore fun. #
  • 01:07 Don't feel remotely sleepy. Bah. Suppose I should take advantage of this and deal with writing boring emails, as opposed to difficult ones. #
  • 01:51 Easy emails written. Still no idea what to say in the difficult ones, but that's tomorrow's trouble... Or later today's. Argh. #
  • 02:01 .... I'm going to bed. It's been an awfully strange week, and I have unexpected duties tomorrow (nothing dreadful, though!) #
  • 09:26 *blinks at day* #
  • 09:29 tinyurl.com/dlfyec MS stores to differ from Apple's... #
  • 10:05 *g* www.doonesbury.com/strip/dailydose/ OK, I think I like Alex again, even if her goals remain v lofty.... #
  • 11:23 "There's a blaze of light in every word, it doesn't matter which you heard, the holy or the broken Hallelujah." #
  • 11:34 Just narrating the events of your life is easy, it's when you have to deal with what influenced you to be who you are that it gets harder, #
  • 15:03 There's going to be Greek restaurant up the road from where I live. Excellent. #
  • 15:27 *realises that that line from 'First we Take Manhattan' is not, in fact, 'I brought your rosary in'. * *head-desk* #
  • 18:01 Closest I have to V-Day post is a delayed copy of the Church Times. On the other hand, it has two jobs to apply for in it, so its all good. #
  • 20:13 Glued to Susan Howatch's "Glamorous Powers", stopping occasionally to admire the hero's cleverness - or shout "Don't be so bloody _stupid_!" #
  • 20:19 ... I think things are just working up to go Horribly Wrong. #
  • 20:28 @ParrotKnight I am now quite sure that the word in question was actually 'groceries'. I do sometimes fear for my sanity! #

I like the Harriet icon - and see that the Horrible Wrongness was of a specific literary quality.

Have you not read Susan Howatch's books before? I thought you'd have been a dead cert! They really are amazing - I just recently discovered that she'd written a newer sequel trilogy to the six Starbridge novels, and spent much of last week devouring them :)
