  • 19:21 Finiding Howard jacobson on Jesus interesting to argue with - sometimes an illuminating perspective, but he seems to think Christians are #

  • 19:38 @ParrotKnight It was particularly the stuff about the baptism of John the Baptist - it's quite clear from the Gospels (and Acts) that.... #
  • 19:40 ... it's not Christian baptism - but that doesn't make it a bad thing. And he accepts ahistorical ideas like all the 'Pauline' epistles... #

That fic ought to exist, but until it does, I've just come across one on Yuletide where she and Susan sail one of the Little Ships.

I had forgotten that scene.

Whenever I read a bit of lit crit (or journalism) about Nancy just being a caricature I think "what books were you reading?".

With the possible exception of Hebrews, all the Pauline epistles are by the same man. The argument to the contrary was invented by some nineteenth-century protestants who wanted to get rid of those which showed episcopacy being installed in Crete and elsewhere. It is sad that such groundless scepticism should still be uncritically accepted two centuries later.
