Fandom ate my brain

I have just typed the sentence 'The mendicant founders are frequently paired with each other', and am now quite unable to decide whether or not that sounds intrinsically dodgy, or whether I've just become oversensitised to slash through hanging out in Harry Potter fandom.

I shall change it, anyhow: not the greatest example of prose in the world, whether or not it suggests Dominic/ Francis OTP.

I remember looking for stuff on the web about the 14th century mystic Heinrich Seuse (who wrote a great deal about his desire for God), and one of the pages that came up turned out to be a piece of 'tasteful' gay erotica, illustrating Seuse's poetry with soft focus pictures of nude men... It was highly amusing, but I don't think Seuse would have liked it.

It seems to have vanished now: though I did find a Catholic Scout group who have named their unit after him: for somereason that seems even more surreal.
