Thought this would be of interest to carlanime, in particular - Rowan Williams on the credit crunch: 'Like an addict returning to a drug', and resulting commentary from Brown and the Tories.

Like the ABC, I am not an economist, but I share his unease about an economy built on moving money around, with nothing to back it up. Though goodness knows what the solution is, or even if there is one...

I heard part of that last night,* but I need to listen to it properly now that I'm awake.

*I usually fall asleep with a podcast on in the background; it's not that I get BBC on my fillings or anything.

I'm glad, it would be rather maddening to be constantly treated to John Humphreys in your head, though i suppose (say) Howard Stern would be worse.
