The interview meme, thanks to
dolorous_ett
1. Post here, asking to be interviewed.
2. I will ask you five questions.
3. Post the answers to your questions in your own journal, together with a call for questions of your own.
4. Leave a link here, to direct me to your answers
1. What brought you to HP fanfiction?
A circuitous route, or rather, one with a rather long pause in it A couple of years ago, I was bored, and started googling random character names from books I liked (at this point I didn't even know that fanfiction existed, but I hoped for some fun websites). Gooogling 'Harriet Vane' turned up a page at FictionAlley, and a novel-length Draco/ Hermoine (yes, I know. The fic is till there, in a revised and reposted version). Well, I never did buy Dramione, and Draco was somewhat OOC - but actually, it was a good story, although I was of the opinion that it would work better if you made it an original work). After that, I prodded around FictionAlley, and didn't have much luck with finding decent fics. I came back to it soemtime early last year, and this time stumbled across
a_t_rain and, somewhere,
snorcackcatcher. Then I discoevered Live Journal, can't remember how - no, wait, it was from
fernwithy's website, and after a bit of lurking it was too late...
2. Would you consider taking a job as part of Archer's crew on Enterprise? If so, what job would you do?
Well, you know what I think of Archer... On the other hand, the lure of strange new worlds, and alien civilisations, is a strong one. Don't know about jobs (my skills are mostly in languages). Chaplain would be fun, if they had one, which they don't.
At any rate, I think I would like to join Reed, T'Pol and Hoshi's Eliminate Archer conspiracy....
3. Do you think David Tennant is going to be a good Dr Who?
I think so, definitely. He's a good actor and seems to have a sense of the character and what he can bring to it. Some of the writing this season has been a bit spotty, but twas ever thus - I think he'll be great.
4. Tell me one place in Britain you've never been to and really want to see. Why?
Shetland. Viking archaeology. Preferably at the time of Up-Helly-Aa.
I am a shameless Viking fangirl (come to that, why have I never been to Shetland?)
5. Who would you rather spend a day with, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis or Dorothy L. Sayers? What would you talk about?
Tough. I think Tolkien was probably the nicest person, out of the three, but I gather my jeans-wearing might alarm him, and while I'd love to talk Beowulf, I'm not sure I'd be able to get a coherent word out, due to awe. In some ways I have quite a lot in common with Lewis, and it would be interesting to talk about allegory, but I think, on the whole, I'd like to talk to Sayers. We'd talk about Oxford, of course, and Dante, and quite possibly Charles Williams and CS Lewis. Judging from her letters, I think she'd be a very amusing companion. (I know one could talk Oxford with the other two, but I'd be most interested in the perspective of one of the first women Firsts, especially as my college was the last bastion of all male education...)

Really? When did Oriel decide to admit women as well? *posts with Emmeline Pankhurst icon*
And -- interview me, please. (I just love this meme. Probably I like talking about myself a bit too much.)
