So who would you like it to be next?

Bill Nighy could do an excellent job.

Can I come inside your head too? I would start watching Dr Who if Bill Nighy were the Doctor.

I only just saw it. Sigh. Ah, well. It's been a good run.

I grew up with Tom Baker as the Doctor and was very sad when he gave up. I didn't feel that he went on too long; however, that could well have been youth speaking. Though I did quite like Peter Davidson as his replacement.

I am going to miss him, but my egotistical part also hopes that he'll do a lot of stagework in the future, especially as soon as I have got the time and money to go to Britain again. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] altariel told me that they did publish last year's Lear with Ian McKellen, so our chances to purchase a DVD aren't too bad, I assume.

But won't the production be taken to the London stage? You might then have an opportunity to watch it there.

I must admit that I was just on the verge of getting fed up with him. I dare say I can live through a few more specials and then bid farewell.

I'm getting fed up with Pretty Young Men, too. I've always seen the Doctor as a sort of uncle figure, and being expected to fancy him is Just Wrong. (I may be misjudging the poor dears, of course; that may not be the rationale behind casting Pretty Young Men at all.) After all, the chap's getting on for a thousand; there'd be no harm in letting him look fifty. Pfft.
