While trying to find the publisher for the new(ish) edition of Meister Eckhart's Deutsche Werke, I landed at Amazon.com, with the record for vol 3 (Sermons) of that work.

Amazon thinks that customers using this page may be interested in "www.bavarianstrollers.co.uk The UK's premier Oom Pa band with over 30 of experience."

Well, maybe. But I wouldn't put money on it.

This week Amazon offered me 'The Oxford Handbook of Criminology' - under the heading 'Most Popular in Children's Books'.

I don't think it's clear where Eckhart was from, though he started his career as a Dominican in Erfurt (so he's an Ossie, really!) He then went to Paris and was active on the Upper Rhine - like Tauler and Seuse/ Suso subsequently, so no, no links to Bavaria known to academia!
