Made dinner.

Upset dinner over kitchen floor, irretrievably bending the pan of the Remoska as I did so, so that it won't work any more.

:(

Then I knocked over some more things in the kitchen, then went out to the Italian take-away round the corner. And dropped my change into a basket of packets of biscuits below the counter.

May be turning into Tonks.

On the upside, the involitini I ended up having for dinner was quite good. Am cross about the Remoska, though. It's an extremely useful thing.

Also, and more amusingly, have just been talking to one of the flatmates, who is doing Middle English and Scots. "It's really interesting listening to you," quoth she, "I can really hear why they spelled 'which' and 'when' with a qh in Scots..."

I hadn't heard of Remoskas before reading this post, but see from an internet investigation that circumstances can easily arise in which they are cherished, and am sorry to read of your Remoska's passing.

I am reminded of a bizarre accident in which I managed to shatter a newly-bought cafetiere glass when it overbalanced and was caught between the kitchen bench, me, and a spoon.

I am reminded of the time I picked up my new and cherished Indian-looking casserole dish, using oven gloves that turned out to have a hole in them...

Commiserations on its passing. I suppose the pan cannot be unbent?

I'm so sorry about your Remoska disaster (I, too, had never heard of them before, but they seem very useful). On the other hand, as a fellow Middle English aficionado, I now really want to hear you talk so I can read Henryson aloud properly...

*hugs*

Lakeland Limited plug Remoskas for all they're worth, but we haven't succumbed yet.

One of my friends has one and loves it. She lives on her own though, so I'm not sure how practical one would be for the four of us, even a family sized one.
