I just started a book of her essays this weekend, and so far I'm really impressed. She has a Chestertonian knack for saying things that I want said, only saying them better than I ever could.

I don't know her work at all - though I think I read a short story once a long time ago - but I think I will have to read some of her essays.

There are a lot of potential questions there regarding the analogy, but I still like it.

(And thinking about it, the potential questions are specious ones based on phrases like 'tricks of the light', which could bear out O'Connor, on reflection.)
