I know I'm spamming a bit today (bad tree_and_leaf! No biscuit!), but I am blaming it on an annoying day where the heating engineers didn't come at all. Those who thought I was being silly complaining about the plumbers turning up early may laugh at this point...
Anyway, I wanted to share this link to
a rather cruel Peter Bradshaw article about the proposed Star Wars TV spinoff. I'm not a big Bradshaw fan, although his choler can be amusing - but he's too much of a snob for my taste. However, this is worth wading through the opening and rather tedious riff about left-over merchandising to his four episode summaries - which are parodies of famous moments in British TV. it took me absolutely ages to get number two, but I did in the end, and then kicked myself for my obtuseness, as there are two fairly obvious clues. I think one is the funniest, but that's simply because the episode that's being parodied is exquisitely funny anyway, although I think it lends itself more to a Potterverse parody, probably with Harry and Ron in the (X and Y) roles.† See how you do, if you've nothing better to do.
† Actually, there's potential for an AU Potterverse version of the show in question, only I think it would have to have Harry, against type a bit, in the ne'er do well role, because otherwise it would probably have to be Harmonian, albeit with a somewhat unsympathetically re-written Hermione. Points to anyone who can follow what the hell I'm talking about.
