I find it encouraging that they're not all extremists of one kind or another who have totally lost touch with what Christianity/ the church is supposed to be about.

This made me feel a bit less depressed about the state of the C of E, and is quite amusing to boot

I can't resist sharing the link to the new grassroots Anglican movement:

Very funny, at least if you know anything about Anglicanism (and I think their product line, especially the perfume that smells of 'damp churches' is probably universally amusing). They have a Facebook page somewhere which is even funnier, but I can't find it anymore, which is a shame, as there was something strangely true about their suggestion that 'we can probably work round the differences over gay clergy and women bishops - but praise bands are probably going to need a schism.' It's always the externals people get really obnoxious about.

Not at all satirical (I think) are this group, who warn that the next Pope will be the Beast of the Apocalypse. What do you mean, you thought he already was? He will also look exactly like John Paul II, apparently. The special feature here is that their reasoning is nothing to do with Our Lady or the Mass, but because of Sunday worship. Yes, we'll all burn in Hell because we go to church on Sunday instead of Saturday - and the New World Order (TM) is about to precipitate the Apocalypse by making Sunday a mandatory day of rest. Boy, if that's right, the Wee Wee Frees are going to be embarassed (as well as damned) that they spent all that time protesting against Sunday ferries when they could have been in the pub with the Catholics instead...

Inevitably, they use the KJV.
