I do now that I have a civilised boss - last year we all stayed in the office until 4pm, heads pounding, and felt like death. This year I told her what it was like and suggested I work from home if necessary. There is an enormous waltzer-cum-upside-down-claw thing just outside my window, that plays the most awful pounding music, and the sight of which whilst typing gives motion sickness, not to mention the fumes. I had a training session yesterday afternoon, but the office was uninhabitable by half-past 12. Several people have just taken holiday, which I refuse to do because I don't see why I should waste my leave!
Ugh, how unpleasant. Hurrah for sympathetic boss! I'm just pleased that walking half the way to and from work means I don't have to deal with the confusion around the temporary bus stops in Broad Street, although today's weather is hardly conducive to walking.
Ian Forrest (historian, mostly Lollards), Annette Volfing (German, mostly vaguely religious literature), Jan-Carlos Conde (Spanish), and formerly Richard Cross (theology), but Notre Dame finally succeeded in luring him away....
Good luck with that! (and if it's any consolation, right no everything is unbelievably soggy, and the Cherwell is flowing in a mildly frightening manner)

Date: 2008-09-09 11:16 am (UTC)The temporary bus stops are annoying, thoguh at least I am close enough to the Parks for it only to be another 100 yards for me.
