Jim McDonald at Making Light has written a filk version of The Ball at Kirriemuir, about slash, with further amusing contributions, covering just about every fandom you could think of in the comments: If ye cannae get slashed on Livejournal/ ye cannae get slashed at all!... (I think my favourite is the 'Left Behind' verse, because 'Left Behind' deserves everything it gets.)

Department of published fanfiction (one for [livejournal.com profile] carlanime, perhaps: 'Behind the Sofa' reviews an erotic novel in which a young widow takes in an amnesiac stranger in an Edwardian frock coat and... predictable things ensue; the difference being that it's strongly suggested that it's the Doctor. I don't think I shall go out and buy it, though.

THat's just *head explodes*

I think my favourite (other than Spike's "And I don't bloody sparkle!) is:

Jimmy turned to Sarah, said
"Will ye ball wi' me?
I ken I'm no yer favorite, but
We're someone's OTP."

It is also possible that I've just contributed...

Oh, that's smashing! Like [livejournal.com profile] nineveh_uk, I'm also a big fan of Spike's "I don't bloody sparkle" line, having just finished Twilight a few days ago...

It's not really relevant, but I was amused by today's talks, two of which mentioned and used "the slash operator".

Yet another instance of the strange range of things that put people in mind of me.
I don't think I'll buy the book either, but I admit I might be tempted by a man in an Edwardian frock coat..

Ten may be very pretty but my goodness he can be annoying at times. I'm currently running through a mental list of all of them and I don't think there's a single one I wouldn't want to throttle after a couple of days.

My favorite verse was this one:

Henry Four made Richard Two
From throne to bent-knee fall
But Richard cried, "My lord, you're mine,
An' I am yours, an' all."

Especially since I think it was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] commodorified and me.

I clicked through the contributor's link to her lj, and she had a certain slashfic in her memories.

[livejournal.com profile] commodorified and [livejournal.com profile] angevin2: getting people to slash Richard II and Henry IV since 2006. ;)

Incidentally- am I the only person here who looks at the description "erotic novel" and thinks that it will be about as erotic as a pile of ironing?
