Comment and I'll give you a letter.
- You have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter.
- Afterwards, post this in your journal.
She gave me 'E'. I found it strangely difficult, for some reason.
1. Edinburgh. My home town, and surely one of the most beautiful cities in the world (though possibly best more-or-less avoided when the festival is on?)
2.Eagles. And birds of prey more generally. There's something about the way they fly....
3. English choral tradition. In particular, I have a shameful weakness for Victoriana like Standford in A. Sullivan's choral music is obviously brilliant, esp. the Boer War Te Deum.
4. Easter. My favourite Greater Festival.
5. Edel und Stark. German TV comedy about two Berlin lawyers, with much snark and UST.
6. Enterprise. The ship and crew ("and nae bluidy A, B, C or D") rather than the series. Spock was always my favourite, closely followed by McCoy.
7. Eamon Duffy's books about mediaeval religion. Even if he is prone to take too rosy a view of popular Catholicism, he uses a bunch of material which hasn't otherwise been considered. I've learned a lot from him.
8. Eggs. Esp soft boiled, with soldiers (to the astonishment of my American housemates last year!)
9. Elbe, the. River flowing through Hamburg, my other favourite city (tied jointly with Edinburgh). Also flows through Dresden and the Sächsische Schwiez, both of which are also very lovely.
10. Eastings. And other things to do with maps, which are an endless source of fascination (she said, cheating deperately, but you can be greatful I suppressed the impulse to go with 'Eastward-facing'....)

Date: 2007-08-27 03:32 pm (UTC)2. Fred Astaire. Just the best dancer I have ever seen.
3. F-15 Eagle. The supreme air-supremacy fighter.
4. Far Side. Gary Larson's cartoons.
5. Fantasy. I can take or leave - for preference, leave - much of today's modern "by the numbers" fantasy, but when it's good, it's very, very. good.
6. Family. Where would I be without them?
7. Fink-Nottle, Gussie. And lots of PG Wodehouse's other comic characters.
8. Friends. Both my RL and my LJ friends are a great help to me.
9. Froggat edge. In the Peak District.
10. Fish. Trout, for preference :-)
