Fortunately this should be one of those cases where we'll get plenty of advance warning whether the result is a mad success or a mess. I have to say, the casting of Lucy Liu was one ray of hope in a rather bleak picture but the "struck off surgeon" part is unfortunate even if "clearing her name" is the plot driver because it has the potential to put even more potential inequality into the relationship than Holmes/Watson has necessarily (see Rathbone/Bruce) to say nothing of genderswapped Watson.
