it strikes me that Harry is the practical sort of chap who would be able to make this distinction.
This fic was inspired by one too many of those 'Sarah is broken-hearted by the Doctor leaving and Harry moons around after her, hoping for a tiny bit of her attention', which added insult to injury by making Harry unable to cope, emotionally, with losing a sock.
