  • 00:46 Have just realised that I probably shouldn't listen to "H******jah" in Lent, whether Cohen or Buckley version. Don't mention the A-word! ;) #
  • 10:52 Wondering why my university webmail is suddenly being spammed out with electronics offers. Also, really need an early night today. #
  • 11:52 Very much enjoyed J Ratzinger's "Jesus of Nazareth": warm, hopeful, and inspiring on the liberating and healing power of God in Christ. #
  • 11:57 It's odd, but I really rather like Ratzinger when he's not got his Papal hat (tiara?) on. Well, as long as he's not talking about teh gay. #
  • 11:59 WHY WON'T THE PRINTER PRINT! #
  • 12:03 Er, because the USB cable wasn't connected. *head-desk* #

Is it possible for you to enlarge on the 'Hallelujah' in Lent question, or would that be too compromising in some way? :)

I had absolutely no idea about this! You are an education. :)

Well, if forced to choose between the two... ;)

I can imagine them as different posts along a person's path.

You're right. Never thought of that before. ;-)

He is sort of an odd duck, isn't he? Not my favourite Pope, although we could've done worse, I reckon. I suppose I've only lived through two of them so I've not much to compare with--I find it odd how it seems as if so many of my friends either adore him or hate him, but I suppose it's mostly cos I seem to be very much always the one in the centre. He seems like a deep thinker who forgets to think about too many important things on the daily-business level, if that makes any sense.

I think that's probably accurate; though I do wish the conclave had elected someone else. But then, I don't really have a stake in the matter.

I kind of wish the conclave had elected somebody else, also, although he has been, so far, not as bad as I feared he might could be.

I don't know the cardinals well enough to say who might have been a better choice. I met an African cardinal as a very small child who stands vividly in my memory as one of the most holy individuals I've ever encountered (judgment made on nothing more than sheer feeling) but I have no idea what his name was, let alone whether he survived John Paul II.
