Excellent article on being Christian in a sceptical climate by Simon Barrow. Thought provoking stuff, especially his emphasis on the implications of the doctrine of the Incarnation and God being found in the material of the world, and the significance of the Trinity.

A lot of challenging ideas there. Thank you.

Very interesting article although I do - inevitably! - disagree with elements of it. And I am still waiting for my atheist superpowers (I think I would choose being able to fly).

Yes, a very good (though difficult) article. And I'm not sure it really fulfilled his stated ideal of explaining religion in accessible language--I found myself having to pause and say "wait, what?" several times. Though perhaps I'm just too church-steeped.

Wow, that was excellent. I don't agree with him on all points, but on most of them, and really, really like his insight.

It's like, people (even Christians) see Christianity as a restriction and a blinding, which would be a lot like saying that learning the truth of a matter is restricting and blinding because you no longer follow what's false. Christianity is about growing and becoming, not cutting and reducing.

I'd like to like this, but for me, it's just continually moving the linguistic pawn.
