Assuming you haven't already had this clarified, I believe I is conventionally "intersex" and A "allies".

I found "The Chalet Girls Grow Up" too much of a dose of reality for my liking (having said that I have read it more than once so it's not that bad). A large part of the appeal of Chalet books for me now is the escapism.

I don't know; it started off being 'too great a dose of reality', and then - well, as I say, crossed over into being a bit too like Thomas Hardy in the bad sense - the 'Murphy's Law' school of literature. I mean, it's quite well done, but I don't think buckets and buckets of angst are necessarily particularly realistic either (I think it was the moment when the allegedly nice ex-Dominican that was Margot's lover ran off and married someone he'd known five minutes that really tried my patience!)

Though I did read the whole thing in one sitting, so I obviously didn't radically dislike the thing....

Unfortunately, the Lidl here is very difficult to get to without a car.

And it's not really the same if you don't get it from a Wurstbude, anyway. Oh well - I'm visiting Freiburg in March, so I will have to find an excuse for a trip to my favourite Schnellimbiss (though really, given how well you can eat in Baden, that's pathetic. On the other hand: Currywurst.)

Damn. Now I'm hungry again.
