I can't believe that icanhaztardis, or whatever it's called, doesn't allow non-member commenting. How paranoid is that?

Not that I had anything vital to say - I was just rather baffled by the person on a thread comparing Narnia and Doctor Who, who suggested that Mickey= Eustace.




Yeah, that was my reaction, too. They may both start out as annoying wet blankets and end up rather awesome - but they're annoying in diametrically oppposed ways. Actually, I can't think of any Dcotor Who characters who resemble either reformed or unreformed Eustace - except perhaps Adric?

Quite. Especially the idea that Rose/ Doctor is the Greatest Love of All Time. It's only believable at all as his not-very-edifying-if-you-stop-and-think midlife crisis... I get slightly queasy about (putative; I don't know what exactly we're supposed to make of Ten/ Rose, but I'm not convinced they're lovers) relationships that are so wildly imbalanced.

It's probably Sayers' fault :)

Following his departure from Doctor Who, Matthew Waterhouse did tour as Eustace in a theatre production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, so someone might have seen a connection between Adric and Eustace.

I can see that working, actually. Adric and Eustace both share the characteristic of being clever but somewhat socially inept (and sometimes whiny)

But Eustace = Mickey? No. They'd have despised each other on sight.
