BT's customer service continues to be awful - still no internet at home, possibly not for another fortnight. If it were me who had placed the order, rather than my flatmate, I would now be offering them them the choice to sort it out now or lose our custom, but my flatmate placed the order and she is more accommodating than me in these circumstances; also, she hasn't grasped that the first rule in dealing with people on the phone is to ask to speak to the supervisor, because the frontliners probably don't have authority to do anything bar follow their scripts.

Heroes, on the other hand, continues to be confusing; and

the revelation that (a) Mrs Petrelli is some sort of evil Company mastermind and

(b) EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSE IS RELATED TO THE PETRELLIS

is rather off putting. I think I preferred Mrs Petrelli when she was being an ordinary manipulative political mother. In fact, if it wasn't for my love for Ando, and my growing love for Nathan Petrelli (I can't believe I used to like Peter more), I am not sure I'd carry on watching. But I do love Nathan and his spiritual crisis, though I have a horrible feeling that there's no way things can end well. Also, if I were him, and discovered that the manipulative and sinister bloke who had been getting me to do things I later regretted, while maintaining that he knew about God's plan for me, was only visible to me, my reaction would be some variation on crossing myself, saying the Hail Mary and phoning the diocese to make inquiries about deliverance ministries. (Well, that or the psych ward). But evidently that's just me.

I loved Angela Petrelli in the first two series, and I must admit I've always found Nathan compelling. My weakness for dark-haired antiheroes must be showing again. ;) Now...it makes sense to an extent, since she's the only one of the corporation people who's alive, and I do like that she does genuinely appear to believe she's doing the right thing, regardless of what everybody tells her. I just want more scenes with her and Noah Bennett being wonderful and ambiguous.

But, you're quite right, I see absolutely no way things can end well -- after all, this is Heroes, and things rarely if ever end well. I'm trying to figure out how to watch the third and fourth episodes now, as I watched the first two before I left Virginia.

Is this contagious? Mine refused to work this morning, without warning.
