I'm not sure whether my chief reaction is 'that's crazy, yet almost admirable' and 'this is why it's not a good idea to give millionaires jobs in the government'....
Part of me feels a bit sanctimonious for his determionation to have fun rather than be a public servant, but this is up against the "well, I'd forgive him a lot for PowderJect" (which I first saw in a very early stage of development on Blue Peter), and a "do you want him in govt. if his heart's not in it anyway".
But it is certainly going to take some beating as a reason.
