Dear Freiburg public transport authority: what the hell do you mean, you can't accept either an Oxford Bod card or an ISIC as proof of student status "because they're valid for too long"?

And the School of Mediaeval and Modern Languages is not a sodding laguage school, it's an academic section of a university. A fairly well known one, at that.

This sort of response could lead to Oxford having to reclassify its departments in the way that the Corporation of London is replacing its name with 'City of London' on all letterheads because internationals now assume they are a private company and not a local authority.

The real irony is that normally in Germany you can't move for people eager to speak German, as opposed to people who can't even guess that if there is only one date on an ID card, it is more likely to be an expiry date than a start date...
