I've been reading the "Ship of Fools" caption competition winners, the pictures being vaguely related to Christianity or the church (for instance, the picture of a certain Bavarian Pontiff having a bad hair day being titled "There's something about Benny")

This picture, though, of an exceedingly... odd pulp pornographic novel just made me boggle:

I think someone seems to explain to the author and cover artist the myriad of flaws in the idea, both theological, sexological, and common-sensical.

... although it would explain all those misogynistic mediaeval depictions of the serpent of Genesis as having the head and upper body of a blond bimbo...

I found myself curiously untempted to google, though I am afraid that I do now need a copy of this to adorn the "you own WHAT?" section of my bookshelves with which I enjoy startling thekind of visitor who, like me, finds great entertainment in purusing other peoples' books collections.

hehehe. That was good. And I love "Screwtape has two Mommies," especially as there's been a kerfuffle about the "real" I have Two Mommies book here - it got banned in a local school district populated by evangelical Christians of the N.American kind.

Is that 'debate' still rumbilng on? How depressing. (though I suppose it doesn't involve violent misreadings of the text, unlike the 'Harry Potter promotes Satanism !!!111!!!11!' crowd, illiberal and generally scary though it is)

ADDENDUM: "Satan was a Lesbian" is a real book. Evidently it has something of a cult following among devotees of cheesy pulp.

I don't know: I think that the incongruity of 'Screwtape has two mommies' might have made Lewis smile, if nothing else.

I'm grateful to you for settling the authenticity question; you're a better man than I am (so to speak). I think my icon adequetely conveys my feelings on the subject!
