Maybe that's my Americanism shining through, but I've always loved, LOVED this book for many reasons. 6. John Skelton's The Garland of Laurel (does this count as a book?) or his 'Speak, Parrot' 7. Pride and Prejudice. 8. Persuasion. 9. Either 'Lolita' or 'Things Fall Apart' (Chinua Achebe). 10. The Awakening (Kate Chopin).
