I just realised I have been washing my hair with shower gel all week.

Fail.

(On the other hand, it doesn't seem to have done my hair any harm...)

This is probably very much a man's answer... but I have found washing my hair with shower gel less problematic than most shampoos, though it does depend on the product concerned.

Well, it certainly smells nice and limey. I shall finish the bottle, anyway!

There's generally not actually all that much difference, except in the case of medicated shampoos. (And even there it's not huge.)

I've often wished there was just one big bottle of "stuff" that would work for showers, so if it continues to do you no harm, perhaps I'll try it myself. :)

That's like my roommate washing her hair with conditioner... couldn't figure out why it felt funny...

I suspect all the washing-the-body things are all pretty similar, so I wouldn't worry. You could probably safely wash your hair with normal soap, so long as you used conditioner afterwards.

Yes, looking at the label, it doesn't look that different!

It felt alright, actually - lathers well and washes out normally (which is why it took me a week to notice, and I noticed by looking at the bottle, rather than anything else).

I'm not convinced it makes all that much difference (though conditioner certainly would...)

Yes, I think you're probably right. It doesn't seem any drier than usual, at any rate.
