I feel slightly sorry for Sophie: she always struck me as someone who spends most of her time making the best of things. Isn't there a point earlier in the series where it's hinted that she doesn't enjoy sex? Though I think she is very fond of Jack in other respects. But it's difficult, as we see so little of her: I don't think O'Brian really knew her, either.
