Incidentally, I am exceedingly pissed off that ECUSA has been chucked off the Inter-Anglican Standing Committee on Unity Faith and Order, when Southern Cone, Nigeria, etc haven't (yet, anyway), whereas I am inclined to think that even if you don't accept homosexual bishops, interfering in the affairs of other provinces is a much more egregious breach of what it means to be Anglican, and if you're going to insist on applying sanctions in the interests of preserving unity, you should at least apply them equally.

This is not, I suspect, what ++Rowan envisaged, but I am inclined to think he should have anticipated it.

In a more cheerful Anglican-related note, I point to an excellent post on the evening hymn of Thomas Ken, whose commemoration it is (still, just about) today.

My mother used to sing me to sleep with it. In retrospect, this probably explains a lot.
