I have a lovely little wooden case, about two inches long, which holds a thimble and a needle case which doubles as a thread spindle. Very practical, because small and easy to pack, so you can alwyas have something for running repairs handy.

Well, it turned up again, but yes... so small and practical that I spent an hour last night looking for it!

No, the only time that's happened to me it was a camping knife and fork set, or rather the knife. Airport security was supremely indifferent to the fork, though I think it would have been easier to damage someone with it!
