Incidentally, how well known would you say the Chalet School books are? I must admit, I don't think they ever registered with me until I saw them mentioned on recent LJ posts. I threw them into a quiz league question on authors of fictional schools recently (no, I didn't include Hogwarts, best not to out myself ...), and no-one seemed to have heard of them. Admittedly only two of the players out of eight were women, but all of them seemed to be of 'the right age'.
