Name one character from any fandom I know and I will give you three facts about them from my personal canon.

Fandoms: Harry Potter, Doctor Who (though I reserve the right to do someone else here; I don't know canon well enough for Doctors 5-8 to be confident of being able to do their companions): I'd also be keen to have a crack at: Star Treks TOS and DS9, Dalziel and Pascoe (book canon only, obviously), Life on Mars, Patrick O'Brian, Swallows and Amazons, Narnia, and John Buchan's Richard Hannay-verse.

ETA: and the Wimsey-verse, of course!

Thank you! I'd never thought that Cliff would get involved in industry, but people can change a lot over 34 years. I think that the idea of a Jo who is not stupid but who has convinced herself that she is can be supported by what we see in the programme - having been bred up in the 'Jo is dim' school, every time I see her being intelligent on the series - particularly in the ninth season - I feel slightly guilty at having believed the old spin.

Thinking about it, the fantastic way in which corporate greed is presented in The Green Death enables one to accept this; after all, most businesses are not run by Wagner-humming supercomputers, at least as far as I know, nor dump waste that cause maggots to grow to giant size. Seeing off Global Chemicals should be an excellent preparation for maintaining one's ethical position while working with other businesses.
