Name one character from any fandom I know and I will give you three facts about them from my personal canon.
Fandoms: Harry Potter, Doctor Who (though I reserve the right to do someone else here; I don't know canon well enough for Doctors 5-8 to be confident of being able to do their companions): I'd also be keen to have a crack at: Star Treks TOS and DS9, Dalziel and Pascoe (book canon only, obviously), Life on Mars, Patrick O'Brian, Swallows and Amazons, Narnia, and John Buchan's Richard Hannay-verse.
ETA: and the Wimsey-verse, of course!

2. She could have passed her A-levels easily, but she got distracted by a crush on - going on obsession with - her chemistry teacher. In later life she was so embarrassed by this that it was easier to tell herself she was just rubbish at science, and a bit of a duffer generally. Her clumsiness helped convince herself of it, and it was only in her time with the Doctor that she began to realise there was more to herself than that.
3. She was profoundly disappointed that Cliff got involved with industry, but when he called her on it, and told her that it was no good spending all your time keeping your hands clean and not trying to actually improve the word around you by working with what you've got, she couldn't think of anything to say. She thought that the Doctor would have seen it differently, but then the Doctor was far too good at walking away. She liked Cliff for being willing to stay.

It struck me that Cliff and co's idealism is very practical, for all the hippyish trappings: after all, he's talking about finding a fungus which will revolutionise the world's food supply! I don't see him working with industry to get rich, but because it's the only way he can see to change things - which doesn't mean that he might not get sucked in deeper than he meant to...

We hope. Although at least the BOSS had decent musical taste...
