Is anyone else finding that they're not getting comment notifications for all the comments replying to their comments lower down threads (if you see what I mean)?

Also, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] orominuialwen, who has helpfully dug up this recording of Bing Crosby singing "Love in Bloom", aka the song that brings Harriet out in hives when punting in Gaudy Night. So sit back, enjoy(?) and imagine the sunshine, the Isis, the mixture of UST and irritation, and of course the faintest whiff of the corporation dump....

Yikes. While I'm a sucker for the crackle of a 78, I can quite see what Harriet meant.

That gloom/bloom rhyme washes over one with a tide of greyed purple, so more Harriet-empathising here.

I have no issues with LJ comments at the moment, but have suffered them before.

I was thinking in terms of 'purple prose' (which this isn't) combined with the unfortunate sense of an atrophying relationship which the song inspires (I really wanted the recipient of the song to run from Bing, now...)

- but maybe I'm too cynical, or just the wrong gender.

Awwwww. Very appropriate for Valentine's Day, dare I say? What a great post...thanks for sharing. And it gives me the opportunity to get this icon out for an airing. Can't remember the last time I used it!

Urgh. Glad to see another point in my over-identification with Harriet.

Give us the great striding fugue, any day.

In your own journal, or elsewhere? You only get notified of the first one in the thread elsejournal.
If they're comment threads on your own journal, or direct replies to your comments elsejournal, you should open a support request. They did a release yesterday, so it could be some issue with that.

Mmmmmmmm Syrup with extra saccharin...!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of 20s/30s music but crooners? No.

Give the the Comedian Harmonists or Sophie Tucker any day!
