(no subject)

After a somewhat unplanned weekend out of range of the internet, I have discovered that my email account is on the blink and I can't get at anything :( Will postpone trying to sort it till tomorrow, in the hope it will sort itself...

In the meantime, I wrote a Narnia drabble. It's not what I set out to write, but there you are; it's the first Narnian thing I've written. It's also as shippy as I generally get, which is to say not really by normal fandom standards....

Sun-filled days and nights bright with stars, sitting on deck, playing chess, telling tales, or singing. Caspian, his kingdom shrunk to a few men and a little wooden world amidst boundless, trackless blue, felt he’d put down a heavy load. The Dawn Treader ran bravely before the wind, the deck moved with the heave and swell of the ocean, and Lucy’s eyes were the blue of the morning sea, her tousled hair gleaming bright as Aslan’s mane.

It wouldn’t, couldn’t last, but that hardly mattered. They were here, now, and that was joy enough and more for the present.

Aw, this fits perfectly with how gutted Caspian is when they have to leave. And I always thought there was a very subtle Caspian/Lucy vibe, and you captured that nicely. :)

You should! Caspian is the best character in Narnia and there needs to be more good fic!

Isn't he adorable being peeved that Edmund never thought to tell him they were from a round world?

Strong, concentrated storytelling. :)

[livejournal.com profile] nhw has directed his readers to this story (http://paperclipbitch.livejournal.com/99563.html) by [livejournal.com profile] paperclipbitch. It's Torchwood/Narnia crossover, and may have helped take his mind off current world events.

That is beautiful! If you've been king since you were 10 or so, you probably deserve a holiday!

I hope you get your email account sorted.

I like it! 'Living in the now' at its best. Well written too.
